¶ Quy velt que Dieu sovyegne de ly, die troi foiz cest salme: “Usquequo Domine”
[Psalm 12].

¶ Qui de rien se doute, die troiz foiz cest salme: “In te Domine speravi” [Psalm 30].


¶ Si vous volez estre deliveré del poer del Deable, ditez le jour trey foiz cest salme:
“In te Domine speravi” [Psalm 30].

¶ Quant vous devez aler la ou vous avez pour ou doute, dites ceste salme: “Iudica
Domine nocentes me expungna [expungnantes me]” etc. [Psalm 34].

¶ Quant temptacion de vostre char vous prent, ditez, “Iudica me Deus et discerne”
[Psalm 42].

¶ Quant vous levetz de vostre lit, dites, “Deus in nomine tuo” [Psalm 53].

¶ Si vous estes en ascun adversité, dites sept foiz, “Exaudi Deus orationem meam
cum deprecor” [Psalm 63].

¶ Si vous devez pleder ov vostre enymy, dites, “Miserere mei Deus [miserere mei]
quoniam in te confidit [anima mea]” [Psalm 56].

¶ Si vous devez combatre, ditez cest salme: “Eripe me de inimicis” [Psalm 58].

¶ Si vous seiez en pecchié, dites, “Deus misereatur nostri” [Psalm 66].

¶ Si vous estes environé de vos enimys, dites, “Exurgat Deus” [Psalm 67].

¶ Quant vous estes en tribulacioun, dites, “Salvum me fac Deus quoniam
intraverunt [aquae]” [Psalm 68].

¶ Quant vous volez rien comencer, dites, “Deus in adiutorium [meum intende]”
[Psalm 69].

¶ Si vous volez qe Dieu receyve ta priere, ditez, “Deus venerunt gentes” [Psalm 78].     


¶ Si vous estes en tribulacioun e volez estre delyvrez, “Domine refugium [tu factus
es nobis]” [Psalm 89].

¶ Si vous estes pris e mys en destresse, dites, “Domine probasti” [Psalm 138].

¶ One who wishes that God remember him, say this psalm three times: “How long,
O Lord” [Psalm 12].

¶ One who is fearful of anything, say this psalm three times: “In thee, O Lord, have
I hoped” [Psalm 30].

¶ If you wish to be freed from the power of the Devil, say this psalm three times in
the day: “In thee, O Lord, have I hoped” [Psalm 30].

¶ When you must go where you are afraid or in fear, say this psalm: “Judge thou, O
Lord, them that wrong me: overthrow them that fight against me” etc. [Psalm 34].

¶ When the temptation of your flesh takes hold of you, say, “Judge me, O God, and
distinguish” [Psalm 42].

¶ When you rise from your bed, say, “O God, by thy name” [Psalm 53].

¶ If you are in any adversity, say seven times, “Hear, O God, my prayer when I
make supplication to thee” [Psalm 63].

¶ If you must plead against your enemy, say, “Have mercy on me, O God, have
mercy on me: for my soul trusteth in thee” [Psalm 56].

¶ If you must fight, say this psalm: “Deliver me from my enemies” [Psalm 58].

¶ If you should be in sin, say, “May God have mercy on us” [Psalm 66].

¶ If you are surrounded by your enemies, say, “Let God arise” [Psalm 67].

¶ When you are in tribulation, say, “Save me, O God, for the waters are come in”
[Psalm 68].

¶ When you wish to begin something, say, “O God, come to my assistance” [Psalm 69].


¶ If you wish that God accept your prayer, say, “O God, the heathens are come”
[Psalm 78].

¶ If you are in tribulation and wish to be delivered, “Lord, thou hast been our
refuge” [Psalm 89].

¶ If you are captured and placed in confinement, say, “Lord, thou hast proved
[me]” [Psalm 138].

¶ These psalms named above should be said while kneeling with great devotion and
each at least three times or more. |
