MacEdward Leach’s edition of Paris and Vienne includes explanatory notes and detailed annotations and comparisons of the manuscript, Leeu’s print, and Caxton’s translation, including passages from the French texts. The following notes incorporate information from his citations, adapted and expanded in keeping with METS editorial policies. Leach’s transcriptions of passages in French have been summarized and translated.

I cite instances where Caxton’s translation departs from both BN1 and L, and instances where BN1 or L include headings that do not appear in his print.
